The LABMUNDO Cartography Studio was conceived within the scope of the research project “Thematic Cartography of Brazilian Foreign Policy” (FAPERJ-Edital Humanidades 2013-2015, CNPq Edital Universal 2013-1), which was made possible thanks to the academic cooperation with the Institute of Political Studies of Paris (Sciences Po). The first work of LABMUNDO’s Cartography Studio was the Atlas of Brazilian Foreign Policy, with versions in Portuguese, Spanish and English. Atlas downloads totaled more than 27,000 worldwide in the first year after its launch. The Atlas of Brazilian Defense Policy was the second such work, done in cooperation with the South American Political Observatory (OPSA), coordinated by Professor Maria Regina Soares de Lima. In addition to the Atlas, our Studio team also participated in projects led by the Research Group on International Relations and Global South (GRISUL), such as the Ubuntu booklets: getting to know Africa and Pacha: Defending the land. In addition, the Workshop contributes to the research of other members of LABMUNDO, producing images or giving consultancies to produce them.
