    LABMUNDO Seminar: Development and Foreign Policy in the Geopolitical South

    During the 30th and 31st, the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) will host the “LABMUNDO Seminar: Development and Foreign Policy in the South Geopolitical”. The event brings together researchers from the antennas of LABMUNDO-Rio and LABMUNDO-Bahia, who will participate in panels of debates around chapters, for a joint book of the Laboratory. The themes discusses on Development and Foreign Policy for the countries of the South Geopolitical, seeking to generate a critical production around and about the South.

    LABMUNDO coordinator participated in the international seminar “The Many Births of International Relations” at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands.

    Under the CAPES PRINT project “Foreign Policy, Regionalism and International Cooperation”, the LABMUNDO coordinator, Prof. Carlos Milani, participated in the international seminar “The Many Births of International Relations” at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands and presented the paper entitled “The Foundation of International Relations and Foreign Policy Analysis in Brazil”. This seminar allowed the discussion of several manuscripts being organized as part of a collective volume edited by professors Karen Smith and Vineet Thakur, from the University of Leiden.

    Sciences Po and LABMUNDO renews the course “Global space: France-Brazil perspectives”

    In its second year of implementation, cooperation between Sciences Po and LABMUNDO renews the course “Global space: France-Brazil perspectives”, a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) available on the Coursera platform.
    With a total of 961 students over the two years and 578 students currently enrolled, the course has been designed by Bertrand Badie, Marie Françoise Durand and Carlos Milani.

    Labmundo researcher participates in Globo New’s tv program, ‘Sem Fronteiras’

    Labmundo researcher, Pablo Saturnino Braga, participated in the program “Sem Fronteiras” on 3 May, where there was a discussion on the topic:”The elections in South Africa”.

    Twenty-five years after the end of apartheid, South Africans go to the polls again. The tv program “Sem Fronteiras” went to Johannesburg and Pretoria, two of the most important cities in the country, to show what the different sectors of society expect from the future.
